5 Steps to Get People to Read Your Blog

5 Steps to Get People to Read Your Blog

Blogging can be both a fun and rewarding experience that can even have financial benefits. Many people write blogs on a variety of different subjects and topics. The subject matter can be promotional content like when someone is trying to sell a product or can be informative. The point is that anyone is able to start a blog. Where they struggle is with getting people to read their blog. This guide will provide five easy steps to achieve that ends.

Step 1: Promote Your Blog

People have to know about your blog in order to read it. That means you need to start by telling your friends and contacts about your blog. Also keep in mind that getting a blog started requires patience.  First of all you will need to establish yourself as a credible source of information. This doesn’t happen overnight, so don’t be discouraged when people aren’t reading your blog right away. This is a process that can take several months.

Step 2: Optimize Your Blog for Social Sharing

Social media has opened up a lot of doors for bloggers. Promote your blog through social media, like: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest.  Copy and paste your blog’s URL on the Social Media platforms you use. Obviously you do not want to spam your friends, but you shouldn’t be shy to share your URL with every Facebook post that you make either. Be sure to include links to your blog that will allow readers to easily share your posts with social media. If you are not sure how to do this, try www.ShareThis.com.

Step 3: Encourage Email Subscription

Allow users to subscribe to your blog via email. This is one of the best ways to share your blog with users because they will get an email notification every single time new content is posted on the blog. The end result is that users will be more likely to return to your website which increases traffic and can help increase revenue (assuming your blog is a business).

Step 4: Publish Consistently

You need to publish content on a regular basis. That means picking a schedule and sticking to it.  If readers do not know when to expect new content, then why should they come back and visit your blog?  It is best to publish content every day or every couple of days.

Step 5: Have Fun and Don’t Be Boring

Sometimes new bloggers put way too much pressure on themselves. This really isn’t helpful because the whole point behind having a blog is to be enjoyable. Instead focus on writing about subjects that you truly enjoy and HAVE FUN! You will notice the transfer of enthusiasm with your visitors.

So what do you think?  Do already have your own Business Fan Page?  If not, are your ready to create one?

To your continued success,
